“It’s an honor to walk beside people in a season where they are hurting and struggling. I love being able to pour into someone who really needs to be seen and heard. It’s beautiful to behold when you see people grow through difficult circumstances and become the best versions of themselves.”
During Melanie’s career, she has had a variety of work experiences. She worked as a Case Manager and houseparent to sixteen at-risk adolescents, both male and female, while at White’s Residential. She has also served as a corrections officer at the Barry County Jail, youth specialist at the Kalamazoo County Youth Home, Case Manager to mentally ill clients, and an access clinician at Allegan County Community Mental Health. These experiences helped to shape the clinician Melanie has become by allowing her the opportunity to see people in all facets of the growth.
In treatment, you can expect an integrative approach as Melanie uses cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and interpersonal therapy (IPT) to identify areas of one’s own life that need refinement or development. Melanie primarily treats anxiety and depression.
