Dr. Steenwyk is a Fully Licensed Psychologist who specializes in group therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). Dr. Steenwyk’s practice focuses on treating adults with a broad range of mental health disorders including Bipolar Disorders, Panic Disorders, Somatization Disorders and Borderline Personality Disorders. He also enjoys working with individuals struggling with chronic health problems, anger/aggression problems and issues related to faith and spirituality.
Dr. Steenwyk is the lead for Pine Rest’s Healthy Living Group and the Dialectical Skills Group programs. Both programs are group therapy interventions designed to teach mental health skills and provide peer support to individuals with numerous chronic mental health challenges.
Dr. Steenwyk earned a BA in Psychology and a BA in Philosophy from Calvin College and completed his graduate training at Fuller Theological Seminary, where he earned a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and a Master’s in Christian Leadership. He is a professional member of the Association for Contextual Behavioral Science, Division 49 of the APA, and is certified in DBT from Psychwire.
