Dr. DeVries is a fully licensed psychologist who has been providing neuropsychological evaluations for over 30 years with a focus on early detection of dementia in adults and older adults. A primary interest of his is helping patients and family members understand the differences between normal aging, mild cognitive impairment and dementia. He also addresses how factors such as grief, loss, stress, depression, anxiety, medical illness and sleep problems can affect cognitive functioning.
The neuropsychological testing portion of an evaluation has to be done in-clinic, however Dr. DeVries offers telehealth appointments for the initial interview and/or for the follow up feedback session. If a patient is not familiar with telehealth technology or does not have a computer or other device available to do a telehealth appointment, it can be done with a family member present using the family member’s computer or other device.
Dr. DeVries earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Calvin College, a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Western Michigan University, and a PhD in Clinical Psychology from Fuller Theological Seminary’s graduate school of Psychology.
