Mariah is a fully Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) and Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC) with over 10 years experience in the social work field. She graduated with her bachelor’s degree in psychology and social work from Grand Valley State University. She then went on to obtain her Master of Social Work degree from Western Michigan University.
Before coming to Pine Rest, Mariah worked at a community mental health organization; serving clients with mental illness, developmental disabilities, children with emotional impairments and their families. She also worked as part of the after-hours crisis team. Mariah has worked in a prenatal to toddler program educating parents/caregivers on childhood developmental issues and parenting skills.
Mariah’s experience includes working in the areas of childhood disorders, chronic mental illness, mood and anxiety disorders, as well as personality disorders. She uses a variety of different treatment options not limited to but including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), solution focused therapy, crisis intervention, motivational interviewing, and behavior modification.
