“I believe that reaching out for help is one of the bravest things a person can do. Life can feel overwhelming at times, and it’s easy to feel that getting back up after being knocked down is impossible. My mission is to support individuals in overcoming life’s struggles—whether it’s addiction, depression, trauma or stress—and help them move toward the life they are meant to live. Therapy can be a space of healing, growth and empowerment, and I am here to walk alongside my clients as they take that first courageous step toward change.”
Maria takes a collaborative approach in therapy, working closely with her clients to understand the root causes of their challenges and develop practical solutions. She fosters a warm, non-judgmental environment where clients feel safe to explore their emotions and thoughts, knowing they are supported throughout the process. Maria’s goal is to help each individual unlock their inner strength, guiding them toward lasting change and self-compassion.
Maria utilizes a variety of therapeutic approaches tailored to the unique needs of each client. She incorporates Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy to help clients process traumatic memories and reduce their emotional charge, supporting their healing and recovery. She integrates cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) to help clients reframe negative thought patterns and develop healthier coping mechanisms. She also uses dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) to support emotional regulation and improve interpersonal effectiveness. In addition, Maria employs Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy, which helps clients understand and heal different parts of themselves that may be in conflict. By exploring these internal “parts,” clients gain a deeper sense of self-awareness and work toward greater internal harmony
In therapy with Maria, clients can expect to develop valuable insights into their emotions, thoughts and behaviors, which empowers them to make intentional changes. Clients will gain effective coping strategies for managing stress and anxiety, strengthen their relationships, and cultivate a deeper sense of self-acceptance and compassion. Sessions are interactive, often blending reflective exercises with practical strategies to implement in daily life. Together, Maria and her clients set clear, achievable goals, regularly reviewing progress to ensure therapy is aligned with their needs. Maria values client feedback, adapting her approach to best support each individual’s growth.
