“I am passionate about helping children and families navigate emotional and behavioral challenges. I believe fostering social and emotional skills from a young age is essential for children to thrive. My goal is to meet each child where they are and create a tailored plan that supports their unique needs and strengths.”
Lauren’s approach to therapy is flexible and adapted to each client’s needs. Working with children requires the ability to pivot and meet the client where they are in the moment. Sessions may be structured and directive or they may have a more laid-back atmosphere. She believes in creating individualized plans to support growth and making changes along the way as needs change.
Lauren believes therapy is rooted in building strong therapeutic relationships. She incorporates a variety of interventions including cognitive-behavioral strategies, mindfulness techniques, positive behavior supports, play therapy techniques, and skill building. Treatment focuses on teaching children and families practical tools they can utilize on an everyday basis and creating opportunities to practice in session.
Lauren is a fully licensed social worker who joined the team as a therapist in 2021. She earned her Bachelors and Masters of Social Work from Grand Valley State University. She then worked as an early childhood behavior specialist in a preschool setting for five years. Lauren has extensive experience working with children facing challenges such as anger, anxiety, ADHD, and other behavioral and emotional concerns. She is dedicated to helping children age 3-12 develop healthy social and emotional skills while guiding families to better understand and respond to their children’s needs.
