“What draws me to this work is a deep belief in people’s capacity to grow, heal and change — even in the face of profound difficulty. I am continually inspired by the resilience of the human spirit, and I consider it a privilege to walk alongside my clients as they navigate life’s challenges and move toward greater clarity and connection. Whether we are working through trauma, anxiety, relationship struggles, or emotional regulation, I strive to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where meaningful change can happen. My goal is to help you feel seen, understood and empowered — and to support you in creating a life worth living.”
At the heart of Kym’s practice is the dialectic of acceptance and change — the idea that we can hold space for who we are right now while also working toward who we want to become. Kym believes healing happens when we can fully acknowledge our current reality, even the painful parts, and still move forward with intention, courage and hope.
Kym’s therapeutic approach is collaborative, compassionate and grounded in practical skills. She draws from various modalities including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Prolonged Exposure (PE), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples, and Family Systems Therapy.
Kym has been a licensed clinical social worker for almost 30 years, with specialized training in evidence-based treatments for a wide range of mental health concerns. She works with children, teens, adults, couples and families, tailoring therapy to meet the unique needs of each individual or relationship. Kym holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Central Michigan University, and a Master of Social Work from Grand Valley State University. Kym’s clinical work is grounded in a strong academic foundation, and driven by a deep commitment to ongoing learning and professional growth.
