Krista is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, a mother of 2 adult children, a straight cisgender female, a person with a disability (she is legally blind), and she has worked full time for Pine Rest since 1999. She completed her undergraduate work at Albion College and received her MA and PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Missouri Columbia. She also received additional training in Mood & Anxiety Disorder treatment as a Postdoctoral fellow at the University of Michigan.

Although Krista has worked with many issues over the years, much of that work has been with people dealing with mood, anxiety and eating disorders and codependency, relationship and grief issues. In addition, as a strong LGBTQ+ ally and affirming therapist, she enjoys working with the transgender/gender diverse community and other often marginalized groups who experience significant minority stress.

Krista utilizes a variety of therapy modalities in her work including Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), Solution Focused Therapy, Insight Oriented Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy and Narrative Therapy. However, regardless of modality, Krista believes firmly that the most important element of a positive therapy outcome is a strong therapeutic relationship.

Krista Anderson participates in the Diversity Collective.
