“Since high school, I’ve known my calling was to support young people through life’s most challenging chapters. Having lacked such guidance myself at that age, I’m driven to be the steady presence for others navigating the pressures of growing up.”

Kim has a unique gift for connecting with young people. Whether she is working with a child through Play Therapy or helping a teenager navigate complex social pressures, Kim meets her clients exactly where they are. She understands that for children, “play” is their most powerful form of communication, and she utilizes play as a bridge to build trust, resolve conflict and foster emotional healing.

Kim offers a personalized and collaborative approach to counseling that is warm and supportive. Her therapeutic techniques include Play Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), strength-based approaches, solution-focused therapy, and mindfulness. Kim is a passionate advocate for parents, helping them decode the complexities of child rearing  to ensure their children receive the support they need to thrive. She has a genuine interest in providing holistic and culturally appropriate psychoeducation to equip families to address mental health issues proactively. Her hope is that through counseling, children and families will be able to experience genuine growth and transformation.

Kim is currently a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) working with ages 5-18 at the Pine Rest Zeeland Clinic. Her journey began in the K-12 setting as a special education teacher and school counselor, later evolving into a role as a Youth Services Specialist for the City of Holland. She holds a Bachelor’s in Psychology from Calvin University and a Master’s in Counseling from Sacramento State. Kim has dedicated her career to serving youth since 1992, and remains deeply committed to helping youth find their way forward.

Kimberly Meyer participates in the Diversity Collective.
