“I believe in meeting people where they are—with empathy, encouragement and practical tools for growth. I’m drawn to this work because I’ve seen how powerful it can be when individuals feel heard, supported, and empowered to make changes in their lives. It is an honor to walk alongside clients as they rediscover their strengths and work toward healing.”
Kerri primarily uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in her work, helping clients identify patterns of thought and behavior that may be contributing to their struggles. She incorporates psychoeducation and goal-setting into sessions to support growth in areas such as anxiety, depression, trauma recovery and grief. Clients working with Kerri can expect to develop greater emotional awareness, build healthy coping mechanisms, and experience a sense of progress as they navigate life’s challenges. Her sessions often include reflection, skill-building and compassionate problem-solving focused on clients’ values and goals.
Kerri is a Licensed Master’s Level Social Worker (LMSW) who has provided outpatient counseling since 2013. She joined Pine Rest in 2022 after nearly a decade of service at Summit Pointe in Battle Creek, Michigan. She also worked at Caring Network as a Program Coordinator supporting pregnant mothers with access to housing, substance use services and counseling. Kerri earned her Bachelor’s degree in Family Life Education from Spring Arbor University and her Master of Social Work from Western Michigan University.
Kerri participates with Faith Community Outreach, an initiative within Pine Rest that seeks to connect area clergy, churches and ministries to services available from Pine Rest; as well as develop new services specifically designed to benefit the faith community.
