“What motivates me is my deep belief that mental health is fundamental to a person’s quality of life. I’m passionate about supporting individuals through life’s transitions, whether it’s grief, identity shifts or major life change, because I know how transformative that support can be. I find profound meaning in building honest, trusting relationships that foster healing and resilience. Equally important to me is practicing with cultural competence, ensuring that every person feels seen, respected and understood in the context of their unique background and experiences. This work is not just a profession to me, it’s a calling.”

Patients working with Kensley can expect a collaborative, patient-centered approach to mental health care. Treatment plans are developed jointly, ensuring both the clinician and patient are comfortable and aligned with the goals. Kensley adopts a conservative prescribing philosophy, aiming to achieve optimal outcomes with the minimal effective medication dosage, prioritizing patient well-being and minimizing potential side effects. Sessions are conducted in a relaxed, non-judgmental environment, fostering open communication and trust. Treatment plans are flexible and realistic, tailored to each individual’s unique circumstances and needs, ensuring adaptability as situations evolve.

Kensley is a licensed Physician Assistant with a Master of Physician Assistant Studies from Grand Valley State University, where she completed a rigorous and comprehensive curriculum encompassing both didactic coursework and clinical rotations. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Behavioral Neuroscience from GVSU, providing a robust foundation in the biological and psychological sciences. Currently, Kensley is a part of the Advanced Practice Provider (APP) training program through Pine Rest. She is committed to continuous professional development and delivering high-quality, patient-centered mental health care.
