In both individual and group sessions with Kendall, you can expect a safe, nurturing space, free of shame and judgement, to collaboratively explore addiction issues and learn ways to move forward in life without substances. You will learn how to manage cravings, mindfulness techniques, healthy ways of coping with mental health symptoms or stressors, relapse prevention strategies, and ways to build connection and support.
Kendall uses trauma informed, strengths based, and person-centered approaches with evidence-based interventions from modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and motivational interviewing (MI) to help her clients meet their recovery goals. Kendall also has experience working with co-occurring issues like depression, anxiety and trauma that so often come with substance abuse disorders.
Kendall works with all people struggling with the disease of addiction, but she is particularly experienced in working with women as they navigate unique challenges. She currently facilitates recovery groups specifically for women at Pine Rest’s Retreat Clinic.
Kendall is a Licensed Master of Social Work (LMSW) and a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC). She completed her undergraduate and Master’s degrees at Grand Valley State University, and has been working in clinical therapy for substance abuse since 2020. Kendall has worked in both residential and outpatient treatment settings, and uses her experience and understanding of the complete continuum of care for substance use disorders to guide you to that right first step on your path to recovery.
