Kelsey is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Nationally Certified Counselor. She earned her Master of Arts Degree in Counselor Education from Western Michigan University and completed undergraduate studies at Grand Valley State University. Prior to her work as a therapist, she completed a Master of Education Degree at La Universidad Católica de Valencia San Vicente Mártir in Spain where she later taught high school. These days, Kelsey still does some teaching as a Certified Mental Health First Aid Instructor.
Some of Kelsey’s counseling experience over the years includes serving youth and families at community agencies, offering academic and career guidance to young adults in college, and providing outpatient therapy to teens and adults. Kelsey helps individuals who are struggling with a variety of concerns such as anxiety/panic, depression/mood, traumatic stress, relationships, women’s issues, body image/self-esteem, and chronic panic.
Kelsey uses a combination of techniques, depending on your individual goals. Some of these approaches may include cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, solution-focused interventions, mindfulness, and supportive psychoeducation. Kelsey is also certified in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy and trained in dialectical behavioral therapy skills.
