“I am deeply committed to fostering a collaborative and supportive therapeutic relationship with my clients. I prioritize creating a safe, empathetic and nonjudgmental environment where my clients feel accepted, heard and empowered. Guided by a client-centered approach, I believe in honoring each person’s unique experiences, strengths and pace in the healing process.”
Katie meets clients where they are and works alongside them to identify goals that align with their values and needs. She understands that change is often difficult and that healing involves leaning into discomfort rather than avoiding it. Katie supports clients in sitting with challenging emotions—such as anxiety or vulnerability—as a necessary and courageous part of growth and transformation. For her, the foundation of meaningful progress is a strong therapeutic alliance—built on trust, authenticity and mutual respect.
Katie’s clinical work is informed by evidence-based practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and a trauma-informed lens. She tailors her approach to each individual, drawing on these modalities to help clients develop insight, emotional regulation skills, and healthier patterns of thinking and behavior.
Katie is a Licensed Professional Counselor with over a decade of experience in the mental health field. She earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Ferris State University in 2011 and her master’s degree in counseling from Western Michigan University in 2014.
