Katie is a Licensed Professional Counselor. She has earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Ferris State University in 2011 and Master’s in Counseling from Western Michigan University in 2014. Katie has experience working in residential settings with youth who have faced varying levels of trauma in their lives. She also has experience working in outpatient and school-based health settings with clients age 16-45.
Katie is passionate about creating and maintaining a collaborative client and counselor relationship. It is important for her to provide a safe, accepting and empathic space, free of judgement. She utilizes a variety of treatment models including, client-centered, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, strength-based, & DBT. Her clinical interests include, but are not limited to, anxiety disorders, eating disorders, identity issues, mood disorders, PTSD, self-esteem issues, adjustment disorders, and life changes.
