Katherine DeVries, LMSW, CAAC
Kathy is a Licensed Master Social Worker and Certified Advanced Addictions Counselor with over 15 years of experience in human services. She earned a Bachelor of Social Work degree from Michigan State University in 2000 and a Master of Social Work degree from University of Michigan in 2001. Her professional experience includes work with children and families in the foster care system at D. A. Blodgett, residential substance abuse services with Pathfinder Resources, and outpatient therapy with The Counseling Center of Touchstone Innovare. Kathy joined the Pine Rest team in 2010 with a focus on treating Borderline Personality Disorder. In addition she enjoys working with adults and adolescents regarding depression, anxiety, trauma, substance abuse, gambling, co-occurring disorders, grief, stress, and anger management.
Kathy is both the Program Coordinator and a team member for the Pine Rest Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Program treatment team. She specializes in issues of Borderline Personality Disorder, self-harming behaviors, and chronic suicide ideation. She has completed extensive continuing education in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Cognitive Therapy.
