“I chose this profession because I care about people. Each person carries a unique combination of strengths, experiences, resilience and personal history. I believe that everyone wants to do well—and can—when given the right support. Therapy is a space where you can tap into your existing abilities, build new skills, and grow into the best version of yourself. I enjoy working collaboratively with my clients to identify and enhance their natural resources while developing tools to navigate life’s challenges. Whether you’re exploring therapy for the first time, returning after a previous experience, or simply feeling curious about what support might look like, I’m here to meet you where you are. I look forward to partnering with you on your journey.”

Joy believes in the importance of client-led treatment goals, where each person’s voice and priorities shape the therapeutic journey. She provides a supportive space for clients to explore their needs at their own pace, with authenticity, collaboration, and comfort at the core of her approach.

Drawing from a variety of evidence-based methods, Joy tailors therapy to meet each individual’s unique needs. Her work incorporates mindfulness, strength-based therapy, humanistic therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). She enjoys working with clients to help them understand the root causes of challenges and make meaningful, lasting changes. These approaches support clients in building self-awareness, identifying personal strengths, and developing practical tools to navigate both everyday stressors and deeper emotional work.

Joy is a Limited License Master’s Social Worker. She earned her Bachelor of Social Work degree from The University of Southern Mississippi in May 2021, and her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Kentucky in May 2023. Prior to joining Pine Rest, Joy began her social work career as a Family Intervention Specialist with Youth Villages in Arkansas. There she provided in-home counseling and support to children and families, helping them navigate complex emotional and behavioral challenges while strengthening family systems.

Joy Leise participates in the Diversity Collective.
