Joy Leise is a Limited License Master’s Social Worker who works with clients age 4-35 at the Pine Rest Christian Counseling Center. She received her Bachelor of Social Work degree from The University of Southern Mississippi in May of 2021 and her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Kentucky in May of 2023. Prior to working at Pine Rest, Joy started her social work career as a Family Intervention Specialist working with Youth Villages in Arkansas. As an intervention specialist, Joy was able to provide counseling and support to children, young adults and parents through individual and family sessions.
Some of the treatment techniques Joy uses are mindfulness, strength-based therapy, humanistic therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. She enjoys working with clients to help them understand the root causes of issues and make lasting changes. She believes in the importance of client-lead treatment goals and creating a safe space to explore client needs.
Joy lives with her husband and daughter. She enjoys spending time with her two dogs and loves finding vintage treasures at estate sales or antique stores. Joy is passionate about people and maintains that everyone can benefit from a therapeutic experience.
