“As a therapist, I am passionate about creating a supportive environment where you can feel less alone. I understand that everyone’s journey is unique; I meet you where you are, offering a safe space to explore your thoughts and feelings. Together, we’ll navigate life’s challenges and work toward your personal growth and well-being.”

Josh takes a collaborative approach to therapy. He hopes to create a space where each client will be able to express how they feel without feeling like they are being judged. Therapy is a very personal experience, and Josh values the necessity to have a place where one can be open and honest about how their emotions impact them.

Josh applies a variety of treatment approaches to ensure that individual needs are addressed. Treatment modalities that Josh utilizes include cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, solution focused therapy, and strength-based perspectives. Josh is also DBT (dialectical behavioral therapy) informed, trauma informed, and LGBTQIA+ affirming. Josh values the therapeutic relationship and hopes that through working together, you can begin to heal, grow, and develop the skills necessary to be successful in meeting your individual goals.

Josh is a fully licensed clinical social worker and a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor. He began working at Pine Rest as a case manager with the Community Services program in 2014, and has worked as a therapist in various programs since 2015. Josh earned both his undergraduate degree and Master of Social Work degree from Grand Valley State University. He is passionate about working with anxiety, depression, co-occurring disorders, and substance use disorders. Josh’s primary focus in therapy is working with adults and older adults.
