“As a Christian therapist, I’m passionate about helping individuals heal emotionally and spiritually, guided by faith, compassion and the belief that true transformation comes from both inner strength and God’s grace. It’s a privilege having a ‘front-row seat’ in helping clients successfully achieve their therapy goals—some of which they never thought possible!”

Jon’s therapeutic approach is balanced: both collaborative and structured. He believes in building a strong partnership with clients, where their goals, values and experiences guide the therapeutic process. At the same time, he takes an active role in offering guidance, evidence-based strategies, and insights to help clients navigate challenges and create meaningful change. To accomplish this, Jon believes it is paramount to create a safe space where people feel heard, valued and respected.

Jon has found it an honor to help hundreds of clients over the years find freedom from the damaging emotional and psychological effects of physical, verbal or sexual abuse and other traumas. In addition to successfully treating PTSD and other trauma disorders, he has extensive experience treating anxiety disorders (including Panic Disorder, Social Anxiety Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, and obsessional thoughts), depressive disorders, anger issues, self-worth issues, spiritual issues, and substance use issues. Jon has also found it an honor to help people effectively navigate through challenging life changes such as grieving the death of a loved one (or other losses in life), working through a divorce, finding a more satisfying career, or adjusting to retirement and older age.

Jon is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor and is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR). Along with extensive use of EMDR counseling interventions, Jon uses include Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Psychoeducation, Motivational Interviewing, Trauma Focused Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Spiritual Interventions, and teaching Problem Solving Skills.

Jon holds an undergraduate degree from Wheaton College (Wheaton, IL), a Master of Religious Education from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (Deerfield, IL) and a Master of Professional Counseling from Liberty University (Lynchburg, VA).

Jonathan Bjork participates in the Diversity Collective.
