Jon Youngs has worked in the mental health field beginning in 1985 as a Direct Care Counselor at a group home for Emotionally Impaired children. Upon achieving his Master’s Degree in Community Counseling and becoming licensed in the state of Michigan as a Professional Counselor in 1991, John worked as a home-based Counselor at a non-profit social work agency offering therapy and education to foster families and families involved in Child Protective Services. He then worked an Outpatient Counselor providing individual and group therapy to adults and children along with therapeutic services to inmates at the County Jail through the Community Mental Health system. Most recently, Jon worked as an Outpatient Counselor at a local private practice. All of these experiences have provided opportunities for Jon to work with a wide range of clients presenting with diverse mental health, cognitive, and interpersonal/social functioning issues.
Jon strives to provide a safe, therapeutic space to support healing and growth, while valuing the strengths of those he is privileged to work with.
