John Naples, LMSW

John is a licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Michigan who has been providing quality, compassionate mental health care to children, adolescents and families in Northern Michigan for over 23 years. He received his Bachelor in Social Work from Ferris State University and his Master in Clinical Social Work from Michigan State University.

John specializes in working with young children and adolescents who may be experiencing mood and anxiety related problems, family conflict, school difficulties or substance abuse concerns. He has valuable experience in the evaluation and treatment of adolescent depression and childhood attention deficit disorder. His areas of clinical interest include trauma, attachment issues, self-harming behaviors, eating disorders and self-esteem.

John is an interactive, collaborative therapist who draws upon his background in cognitive behavioral therapies to guide his work. He especially enjoys and finds great value in the use of play and art therapy to help children identify and appropriately manage their emotions and behaviors. John has an authentic, compassionate and honest approach to therapy. He provides a safe and accepting environment that allows children and adolescents to grow and meet the challenges they may be facing in life.
