Jessica earned her Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from Western Michigan University in 2005. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Limited Licensed Psychologist in Michigan. She has worked in a variety of settings from crisis units to mental health centers to correctional facilities. She has been in leadership and a staff trainer in addition to her clinical practices. Jessica has specialized training in sexual offender risk assessments and treatment modalities. Much of her career has been centered around helping adults with sexual addictions, substance use, anxiety/stress and trauma/abuse.
Jessica’s therapeutic style is open and honest and involves helping clients arrive at gaining insight, increasing strategies, and finding tools that they can begin using immediately to make positive change in their life. She uses evidence-based techniques including solution-focused counseling, cognitive-behavioral therapy, psycho-educational techniques, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and a humanistic approach to helping her clients. Most importantly, Jessica strives to build a therapeutic relationship in order to maintain a relaxed and welcoming environment that allows clients to be who they are and get the most out of therapy. She enjoys seeing people get through their struggles and come out on the other side as healthier and happier individuals.
