Helping people brings me joy. Providing a space for others to be heard, understood and valued is an honor. I believe in meeting people exactly where they are and offering a steady, safe and nurturing presence while supporting them in discovering their inner strength, and gaining insights that lead to lasting growth.
Jessica creates a warm, accepting and comfortable space where clients’ needs and strengths can emerge naturally. She views therapy as a collaborative partnership — one in which therapist and client work together to reduce suffering, build resilience and cultivate meaningful change.
Jessica takes an eclectic approach, tailoring treatment to each individual’s needs. Sessions begin with a check-in to explore recent events, progress or goals, and they conclude with an action step or focus to carry into the week. Jessica uses evidence-based therapy models and their associated interventions. Her clinical work is rooted strongly in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, recognizing the powerful connection between thoughts, emotions and behavior. She also integrates tools from a variety of approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Play Therapy, Behavioral Therapy, and Somatic Experiencing.
Jessica is a Licensed Professional Counselor at Pine Rest, working with ages 12-61. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Grand Valley State University and her Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Western Michigan University. She has been providing counseling since 2017. Prior to beginning her career as a therapist, Jessica spent ten years working in Human Resources across medical, hospitality and manufacturing settings, giving her a broad understanding of diverse workplaces and life experiences. She also managed a small business, gaining additional opportunities for personal and professional growth.
