“I believe all individuals deserve to be understood, and that we all can reach our full potential by recognizing the unique differences that come from the interactions between our neurological, psychological and environmental influences.”
Jesse is passionate about helping individuals and their families better understand not only what possible diagnoses may be contributing to challenges at home, school or work, but also how a person’s strengths and differences can inform their current needs and provide a guideline for understanding themselves.
Jesse’s areas of expertise include attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, autism spectrum disorder, learning disabilities, concussions, traumatic brain injuries, and other medical complications, with a special focus on pediatric neuropsychology.
Jesse earned his PhD in School Psychology with a specialization in neuropsychology from Ball State University. During his training, he gained valuable experience working in the school system for three years, conducting evaluations for special education placements and working within the Response to Intervention framework. He also spent a year at the VA Northern Indiana Health Care System, performing neuropsychological evaluations for veterans. In his final two years at Ball State, Jesse served as the Associate Director of the Ball State Neuropsychology Lab, where he conducted evaluations for clients of all ages. Jesse came to BRAINS as a pre-doctoral intern in 2014 and transitioned to post-doctoral residency in neuropsychology before becoming a licensed psychologist.
