Jena is a Limited Licensed Professional Counselor at the Pine Rest Christian Counseling Center. She received her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Psychology from Central Michigan University, and then went on to graduate from Western Michigan University with a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
Jena has experience working with older adolescents, young adults and older adults. Previously, she was working in a community mental health setting working with adults of all ages to provide treatment and support for those struggling with anxiety, depression, PTSD, relationship issues, LGBTQ+ issues, and personality disorders.
Jena’s approach to therapy is to create a safe, warm environment for clients to feel comfortable and allow clients to be their genuine selves in session. She has an interest in working with adults of all ages to provide treatment for those who may be experiencing anxiety, depression, PTSD, relationship issues, along with LGBTQ+ individuals and individuals struggling with diversity issues. She has experience using cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused techniques, strengths-based techniques, and DBT skills.
