I am a fully licensed Master Social Worker and Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor. I earned my Bachelor’s of Social Work and Bachelor of Psychology from Ferris State University and went on to earn my Master’s of Social Work from Western Michigan University. While attending Western Michigan University, I also earned my certification in Trauma Across the Life Span as well as my certificate in Special Program for Alcohol and Drug Abuse.
I have worked with various populations including individuals experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness, adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, individuals experiencing acute psychiatric illness in a hospital setting, as well as adults with the disease of addiction, in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
I use a trauma informed perspective working with adults that is strength-based and person centered. I utilize several different treatment modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing (MI), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), solution focused therapy (SFT), crisis intervention, and other appropriate evidence-based interventions that are tailored to client’s specific needs.
