Jamie is a fully Licensed Professional Counselor in Michigan and Colorado. She is a Grand Rapids native who completed her BA in Secondary Education at Grand Valley State University in 2010. After a very brief career as a substitute high school English teacher, Jamie attended the University of Colorado (Colorado Springs) to pursue her master’s degree in Counseling and Human Services, graduating in 2013.

Jamie previously worked as a behavior technician under BCBA supervision providing behavior therapy and applying the principals of ABA in home and in clinic with children with Autism. She completed her internship with TESSA (Colorado Springs) providing trauma-informed treatment to survivors of sexual and domestic violence. Since then, Jamie provided home-based family therapy and outpatient therapy in both Colorado and Michigan. Jamie blends interventions that best suit individual needs and goals, drawing from approaches such as: Humanism, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Informed Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Trauma-informed care, CBT-based and directive Play Therapy, Expressive Arts Interventions, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, and more.

In her free time Jamie is an animal lover, reader, nature enthusiast, hiker, budding chef, artist, and enjoys live music.
