“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13.
This verse has helped me live my life in a Christ-like way and be encouraged to help others who are struggling with mental health and addiction. I grew up in a Christian home where faith principles were instilled in my values. When I was a teen, I became a Christian and wanted to help others who were struggling with their faith. This led me to college where I thought I wanted to be a doctor however God had other plans that led me into the counseling field, earning a Master of Social Work degree, and I thank Him daily for leading me here. Experiencing ups and downs in my life has helped me grow closer to God, all while keeping this verse in my mind during times of doubt or questioning as well as times of celebration and joy. Being a clinical Social Worker has given me the opportunity to walk alongside those who are hurting and help carry their burden when they are struggling with addiction or emotional concerns. Through life experience, training, and strength that comes from God, I have been blessed to walk with others on their path toward recovery and healing.
