Heidi Vermeer-Quist, PsyD, Licensed Psychologist

Heidi is a licensed clinical psychologist (Psy.D.) who helped start the Pine Rest Des Moines Clinic in 2002 and continues her clinical practice there. She received her internship training at Meier Clinic (partial hospitalization and outpatient programs) in Wheaton, Illinois. Heidi earned Bachelor degrees in Psychology and Music (vocal performance) from Calvin College and her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Wheaton College.

She provides psychotherapy to people struggling with depression, anxiety, relational conflicts, unresolved grief and adjustment, and personality disorders. She has specialized training in the treatment of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Eating Disorders, Marital Therapy and more recently in Family Business Consulting. Heidi actively teaches therapeutic and community classes that incorporate Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Christian spiritual disciplines, and healthy boundaries.  Heidi just published a book, incorporating all of these skills, entitled “Grounding”, Book One of the “Gardening Your Life” series.

Heidi participates with Faith Community Outreach, an initiative within Pine Rest that seeks to connect area clergy, churches, and ministries to services available from Pine Rest; as well as develop new services specifically designed to benefit the faith community.
