“It is incredibly rewarding to walk alongside clients while they gain new insights, learn new skills and find their inner strength. It is my goal to cultivate a safe, calm and welcoming environment where clients can feel at ease while they explore and examine their struggles, reflect on past experiences, and enter a place of growth. I consider it a privilege to be able to work collaboratively with clients and assist them with achieving their goals- no matter how big or small.”

Clients often describe Erica as approachable, empathetic and deeply committed to their well-being. She creates a safe and affirming space where adolescents and adults feel comfortable exploring their thoughts, emotions and life experiences. Erica meets each client with compassion and respect, building strong therapeutic relationships that foster trust and growth. Her calm and supportive presence helps clients feel empowered as they navigate challenges and work toward healing.

Erica uses a strengths-based, person-centered approach, tailoring her work to meet each client where they are. She incorporates psychoeducation and techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), including mindfulness and cognitive restructuring, to help clients better understand their thoughts and behaviors. Erica’s areas of clinical interest include anxiety and mood disorders, women’s issues, grief, domestic violence recovery, and LGBTQ+ concerns. Through therapy, clients can expect to gain insight, develop healthier coping strategies, and build resilience for lasting change.

Erica is a Master’s level Limited Licensed Counselor in the state of Michigan. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Grand Valley State University and her Master’s degree in Counselor Education from Western Michigan University. Since joining Pine Rest in 2018, she has worked with a wide range of clients in both inpatient and outpatient settings, beginning her career as a Psychiatric Technician. Erica brings both clinical skill and heartfelt dedication to her work, helping clients move forward with hope and confidence.

Erica Terry participates in the Diversity Collective.
