“To me, communication is more than just words—it’s how we connect, share and understand each other. As a speech-language pathologist, I feel honored to help children and families strengthen this essential part of their lives. Whether it’s working on speech sounds, supporting language development, or helping a child feel confident expressing their needs, I believe every individual deserves to be heard—and understood.”
Emily brings a thoughtful, compassionate and skillful approach to her work, especially with children navigating complex communication and neurodevelopmental needs. She values the power of individualized care and enjoys partnering with families to help each child reach their full potential. Emily is passionate about making therapy feel safe, supportive and even fun, while working toward meaningful progress.
Emily’s clinical interests include articulation and phonological disorders, expressive and receptive language, and social communication challenges. She also has extensive experience collaborating with a psychologist to diagnose autism spectrum disorder and develop clinical recommendations for families. She is deeply committed to neurodiversity-affirming practices and is skilled in providing play-based, child-led therapy that draws on each child’s unique interests to support engagement, motivation and growth. Recognizing that progress extends beyond the therapy room, Emily prioritizes collaboration not only with families but also with other professionals to promote meaningful carryover of skills into everyday life.
Emily earned her Bachelor of Science in Allied Health Sciences with an emphasis in Speech-Language Pathology and a minor in Psychology from Grand Valley State University. She went on to receive her Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology from Western Michigan University.
