Elise’s passion for mental health therapy stems from a deep-seated desire to help individuals navigate their unique challenges and find healing. Her motivation is driven by witnessing the transformative power of therapy in people’s lives, especially those who have experienced complex trauma, domestic violence and other significant hardships. Elise believes in the resilience of the human spirit and is dedicated to providing a safe, supportive space for her clients to explore their emotions and experiences.
Elise is comfortable working with individuals from diverse backgrounds. She has experience working with children, adolescents and young adults facing a range of issues, including suicidal ideation, behavioral difficulties, adoption/foster care challenges, gender dysphoria, and LGBTQQIAP+ concerns.
Elise values a therapeutic relationship built on a strong foundation of authenticity and trust. She utilizes a variety of psychodynamic, interpersonal and cognitive therapies to create a relaxed, client-centered approach to treatment. Her goal is to empower her clients to achieve their fullest potential and lead fulfilling lives.
Elise is a fully licensed social worker who sees clients aged 12 – 40 at the Forest Hills Clinic. She attended Grand Valley State University for her bachelor’s degree in social work and completed her master’s of social work and certificate in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT).
