Corey Lloyd is an LLMSW (Limited Licensed Master’s Social Worker) and got her Bachelor of Social Work degree from Western Michigan University in April of 2018, and her Master of in Social Work degree from Grand Valley State University in May of 2021. Prior to working at Pine Rest, Corey worked at Covenant Living as a geriatric and medical social worker and at Victory Clinical Services Kalamazoo providing substance abuse counseling.
Corey primarily uses cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, motivational interviewing (MI), humanistic therapy (HT), and strength-based approaches. She works primarily with adults and geriatric adults, and focuses on adoption and foster care issues, anxiety disorders, eating disorders, mood disorders, older adults/senior care, grief and loss, panic disorders, and PTSD/trauma/sexual abuse.
Corey is from Southwest Michigan and currently resides in that area. She has a few cats (Nova, Oslo, Simon, and Phoebe), and a dog (Lucy). In her free time, she enjoys reading, running, baking, dancing, singing, and being in nature. Corey loves her job as a therapist. She believes that therapy can be a wonderful tool to assist those who are looking for growth, and those who are facing difficult situations. Corey strives to build a safe and compassionate atmosphere for her clients, where all who come are accepted, worthy and valued.
