Brett VanTol is a licensed psychologist who has worked at Pine Rest since 2008. Prior to this, he worked in the Lansing area for 15 years primarily in the area of brain injury rehabilitation and chronic pain management.
Brett earned his bachelor’s degree from Calvin College majoring in Psychology. He then completed his master’s degree at Michigan State University in Rehabilitation Counseling with an emphasis in disability management and the return of injured employees back to work. He returned to Michigan State University to earn his PhD in Counseling Psychology in 1998, and has practiced in the area of rehabilitation psychology since that time.
In addition to the practice of psychological therapy and assessments, Brett’s areas of expertise include coping with serious medical and life changing conditions, family adjustments, and relationship concerns. He participates with Faith Community Outreach, an initiative within Pine Rest that seeks to connect area clergy, churches, and ministries to services available from Pine Rest; as well as develop new services specifically designed to benefit the faith community.
