“Making people feel comfortable and supported as we discuss concerns and symptoms is always my first goal. From here, there’s an opportunity to be present with people in some of their most challenging moments. There is such a variety of symptoms that bring people to seek psychiatric care, but knowing that there are many different treatment options to help eliminate or at least decrease the severity of the majority of these, makes it a privilege to be able to care for my patients in this way.”
Brennan strives to provide a welcoming environment for all patients. While there is an element of consistency and structure to the visits, there is also a goal of individualizing the conversation to the patient’s specific symptoms and goals.
Brennan utilizes her educational experience and training regarding psychological development and principles in each assessment. This helps her to better understand her patients and make the most appropriate diagnoses, which guides the development of the treatment plan for each patient.
Brennan is a board certified adult psychiatrist at Pine Rest. She received her bachelor’s degree in Biopsychology, Cognition and Neuroscience from the University of Michigan. She then went on to attend medical school at Wayne State University School of Medicine. She completed her psychiatry residency at Indiana University School of Medicine, graduating in 2022.
