“I am committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based mental health care that acknowledges the profound impact of societal, economic and environmental factors on well-being. My mission is to empower individuals to navigate personal challenges while also advocating for systemic change that promotes mental health equity. I strive to create a safe, affirming space where clients feel seen, heard and supported in addressing both internal struggles and external barriers to wellness.”

Aprille approaches therapy with a spirit of curiosity and warmth. She aims to meet each client where they are on their therapeutic journey to collaboratively determine the modalities and strategies that feel like the best fit. She is trained in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), mindfulness, trauma-informed care, perinatal mental health, and narrative therapy.

Working with Aprille isn’t just about addressing what brought an individual to therapy—it’s about healing, growing, and discovering how to truly thrive. Whether clients are processing past trauma or navigating present challenges, Aprille provides a non-judgmental space to make sense of their experiences in a way that fosters resilience and self-compassion. Clients often gain new insights and build lasting skills that support personal growth. Sessions typically begin with a check-in, offering an opportunity to reflect on recent events, followed by intentional work that deepens self-understanding and healing. Aprille strives to ensure that clients leave each session with practical tools and insights to support their journey far beyond therapy.

Aprille is a Licensed Master Social Worker, providing therapy since 2017. After obtaining her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Endicott College, she earned a Master of Social Work from the University of Maryland, Baltimore. Aprille is currently completing a PhD in Social Work at the University of Denver, where her research focuses on systemic barriers in mental health care, clinician well-being, and policies that support parents and caretakers. She also teaches in human services and social work programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Aprille appreciates the synergy of being a clinician while teaching and being engaged in research efforts aimed at improving mental health care.

Aprille Arena participates in the Diversity Collective.
