April’s approach to therapy is founded in compassionate honesty and a friendly, caring relationship. Her clients appreciate the direction they gain, as well as the genuine support and validation. Her open-minded, non-judgmental approach often helps clients find their way to accept themselves and others, and to new paths in their lives.
April utilizes evidence-based practices to assist clients, encompassing interventions from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, and traditional psychotherapy.
With a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and master’s degree in Counseling Psychology, as well as a doctorate degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, April brings vast knowledge from different areas to her therapeutic practice. She is a Limited Licensed Psychologist and has her Certification in Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counseling (CAADC).
April is also the Pine Rest Employee Assistance Program’s Training and Clinical Facilitator, creating, coordinating and developing the program, as well as delivering a variety of trainings.
