“After working in the education field, I discovered that my true passion lies in supporting individuals and families facing mental health and relational challenges. My goal as a therapist is to empower my clients, helping them navigate obstacles and build a path toward a healthier, more fulfilling life. I am guided by the wisdom of Booker T. Washington, who said, ‘I have learned that success is to be measured not so much by the position that one has reached in life as by the obstacles which he has overcome while trying to succeed.’ This philosophy shapes my approach, encouraging resilience, growth and meaningful transformation.”

Andrae creates a welcoming and supportive environment where clients feel valued and understood. He is committed to treating each individual with dignity, respect, sensitivity and compassion, recognizing that every client has unique needs. With a personalized approach, Andrae tailors dialogue and treatment strategies to best support each person’s journey, ensuring they receive care that is both meaningful and effective.

Andrae recognizes that no single approach fits every individual, which is why he employs a multi-faceted therapeutic framework tailored to each client’s unique needs. His practice integrates several evidence-based modalities, including Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), solution-focused techniques, and psychoeducation. Through this diverse approach, Andrae empowers clients to explore their strengths, develop effective coping strategies and achieve meaningful personal growth.

Andrae is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) at the Pine Rest Campus Clinic, where he provides compassionate and effective mental health care. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree with a concentration in secondary education from Mississippi State University, and later pursued his Master of Social Work degree at Western Michigan University. Since joining Pine Rest in 2008, Andrae has served in various roles, gaining extensive experience in supporting individuals through diverse therapeutic approaches. His long-standing commitment to mental health reflects his dedication to helping clients navigate challenges and achieve personal growth.

Andrae Agnew participates in the Diversity Collective.
