Amanda is a fully licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Advanced Addiction Counselor. She received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Grand Valley State University (2001) and her Master’s in Social Work from Western Michigan University (2007). She joined Pine Rest in 2023.
Prior to joining Pine Rest, Amanda worked for 15+ years providing home-based family therapy, crisis intervention, risk assessments/screenings and individual therapy services for those struggling with mental health and/or substance use disorders.
Amanda is passionate about creating a non-judgmental therapeutic environment where individuals feel safe, supported and listened to. She is LGBTQ+ affirming. She has special interest in supporting those who may be experiencing difficulties related to depression, anxiety, trauma/abuse or co-occurring disorders. Amanda assists individuals in working through some of these adversities with a strengths-based approach using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing.
