“When you sit across from me, know that I have been where you are. My own life experience, especially the support and guidance I received when I didn’t see a way forward, is what drives my passion to show up each day for my clients. Together we will work to get you where you want to be.”

Alyssa looks to create a safe space where her clients can take refuge from judgement and feel comfortable to show up as they are. People from all different backgrounds and walks of life are accepted and embraced no matter their age, race, gender or sexuality.  Alyssa will show up for you as her genuine and authentic self, and seeks to help you do the same. She approaches therapy in a collaborative, flexible, compassionate–and at times light-hearted–way because she believes there is no true “one size fits all” method to meet your needs and goals.

Alyssa understands the impact that adverse or traumatizing events can have on the mind as well as the body. She seeks to work alongside individuals to facilitate the growth and healing of the whole person by utilizing various evidence-based interventions associated with cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Somatic psychotherapy.

Alyssa is a licensed Master of Social Work. She began working at Pine Rest in 2016 prior to finishing her bachelor’s degree in psychology at Grand Valley State University. She received her master’s in social work from Western Michigan University where she specialized in trauma across the lifespan. Alyssa has previous experience working in both hospital and residential based programs with adolescents and adults who struggle with severe and persistent mental health symptoms and require increased levels of structure, support and treatment. Currently, she is an outpatient therapist and has been practicing in this setting since 2022.
