Clinical Pastoral Education Supervisor
Rev. Dr. Karl VanHarn is the Director of Pastoral Services and CPE at Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services. He is an ordained minister in the Christian Reformed Church. He has served churches in Littleton, Colorado and Jenison, Michigan. He has also served as a Chaplain in general hospitals in Denver and Santa Rosa, California. He worked with Pine Rest CPE from 1995 to 2004, while serving as a Chaplain at Wedgwood Christian Services. He has been an ACPE Certified Educator since 1998.
Rev. Dr. Karl has a DMin from Western Theological Seminar (Holland, Michigan), an MDiv form Calvin Theological Seminary (Grand Rapids, Michigan) and a BA in Philosophy from Calvin College (Grand Rapids, Michigan).
He is married to Joanna, and they have two children, Joseph and Miriam.

Rev. Dr. Kathy Bird DeYoung is an ACPE Certified Educator at Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services. She is an ordained minister with American Baptist Churches U.S.A. She has been a Board Certified Chaplain through the Association of Professional Chaplains. She has served churches in Peoria, Rantoul and Mahomet, Illinois as well as a chaplain in three retirement communities in metro-Denver from 1999 through 2013.
Rev. Dr. Kathy received her Doctor of Ministry (DMin) degree from Ecumenical Theological Seminary (Detroit, Michigan) in May 2020, her MDiv from Northern Baptists Theological Seminary (Lombard, Illinois) and her BA from Michigan State University (Lansing, Michigan). Having worked in Latin America for over two years, she is fluent in Spanish.
She is married to Mark DeYoung, a special education teacher.

Rev. Dr. Lisa B. Taylor is the Manager of Pastoral Services and CPE Educator at Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services. She is currently an ACPE Certified Educator Candidate. She is an ordained Itinerant Elder in the African Methodist Episcopal Church. She has served at churches in Birmingham, Alabama and Tarrant City, Alabama. She has also served as a CPE Resident Chaplain in a general acute care hospital in Birmingham, Alabama.
Rev. Dr. Lisa has a Doctor of Ministry (DMin) from Ecumenical Theological Seminary (Detroit, Michigan), a Master of Divinity (MDiv) from Beeson Divinity School at Samford University (Birmingham, Alabama) a Master of Science in Strategic Leadership (MSSL) from Mountain State University (Beckley, West Virginia), and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a Concentration in Marketing and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from Samford University (Birmingham, Alabama).
She is divorced, the mother of two adult sons, and an adult daughter, and the grandmother of four grandchildren who affectionately call her, “Lovie.”
