Equipping individuals for the next steps of their recovery journey
Short-term residential care is for men and women age 18 and above whose recovery is complicated by continuing physical and/or emotional issues requiring stabilization. Despite a high level of motivation, sometimes a patient’s potential to relapse is heightened due to the lack of a strong support system, inadequate living arrangements, broken relationships or a combination of external stressors that serve to complicate recovery.
Patients may be directly admitted to or transferred to the program from any level of care in our continuum. The program allows for continuity of care for those patients who no longer need detoxification services but could greatly benefit from a continued stay in a supportive residential setting.
Services are provided with many of the same staff as our residential detoxification program.
In addition to meals and comfortable accommodations, the patient may receive:
- Intake assessment and evaluation
- Physical evaluation by a physician or nurse practitioner
- 24-hour monitoring by our nursing staff• Individualized plans of care
- Individual and group therapy
- Family support
- Educational groups
- Self-help support groups
- Aftercare planning
- Community involvement
- Spiritual care options
Pine Rest also offers long-term residential services.
The 12-bed unit provides a comfortable community setting for recovery. The Residential Detoxification program is located on Pine Rest’s beautiful 220-acre campus. Private and semiprivate rooms are assigned based on availability.

“I have a lot of love and respect for the staff here. I have told my story to a lot of people including fellow addicts/alcoholics, and I hope they choose Pine Rest’s treatment program.” -A resident
