Robert G. Johnson, LPC, CAADC
Robert’s undergraduate degree is in Family Studies from Spring Arbor University. He is a Certified Family life educator (CFLE), through the National Council on Family Relations. He earned his Master’s of Arts in Counseling Education, Counseling Psychology through Western Michigan University, is a Licensed Professional Counselor, and Nationally Board Certified as a Counselor through NBCC. In addition, he attended Western Michigan University’s Graduate College of Health and Human Services Specialty Program for Alcohol and Drug Abuse, earning a Graduate Certificate in drug and alcohol abuse treatment. He is an Internationally Certified Advanced Addictions Counselor (ICRC). He has post graduate training in Motivational Counseling, CBT, DBT, and EMDR.
Robert supervised an adolescent drug treatment program for 6 years at Wedgwood Christian Services, and in 1998, began his work as a therapist. In 1997, Robert received a National Award for his work with children and families form the CWLA, and accept this award at their National Conference in Washington D.C. Robert came to Pine Rest from Wedgwood in 2009.
Robert provides treatment for children, teens, and adults for depression, bipolar, anxiety spectrum disorders, trauma, domestic violence, sexual assault, substance abuse & dependence, codependency, family problems, life adjustments, disruptive behavior problems in children, grief and loss, and therapeutic intervention for those with chronic illnesses.
