Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services, established in 1910 as a psychiatric hospital outside of Grand Rapids, is one of the leading private behavioral health providers in the country. Direct services in northern Michigan began when the Traverse City Clinic was established in 2006 as part of the outpatient clinic network. Pine Rest is committed to providing quality professional mental health services to children, families, and adults in northern Michigan.

Infant Mental Health Services

The Traverse City Clinic specializes in understanding and working with the social-emotional needs of very young children and their families. We take a collaborative approach involving family members, care givers, and other professionals. We have staff members who specialize and are credentialed in providing a wide range of professional services.  These services include:

  • Age appropriate assessments of the social-emotional needs and behaviors
  • Treatment services involving the parents and children, often in the family’s home, in collaboration with community mental health
  • Family consultation services in the office and in the home
  • Consultation services for day care centers and other care givers in 21 counties in northern Michigan

Northern Michigan Marriage & Family Center

The mission of the Marriage & Family Center is to strengthen marriages and families through prevention and education programs.  We believe that enhanced health in our marriages and families will have immediate benefits for those relationships and long term benefits for our children and communities. Thre Traverse City Clinic is located at 1050 Silver Drive, Traverse City, MI 49684.

From the south:

Head north on US-31/M-37 (which becomes Division Avenue) past Meijer and past Silver lake Road/14th Street, to 11th street and turn left. Continue past Elmwood Avenue, turn left onto Silver Drive, follow the green Pine Rest signs.

From the north:

Head south on US-31-M-37 (Division Avenue) to 11th Street and turn right. Continue past Elmwood Avenue; turn left onto Silver drive; follow the green Pine Rest signs.

Our building is reddish stucco; our sign is on the building. Entrance is on the west side.
