This service line offers 20 inpatient beds, licensed to Pine Rest and located on Pine Rest’s main campus in Grand Rapids.
Growing older is a natural part of life. Advancing age may bring a loss
of independence and declining physical abilities. Both are factors in the
special mental health needs of older adults.
If you or a family member are experiencing difficult changes, you need
not simply accept the situation. At Pine Rest, we have a complete assessment
program for older adults and generations of experience with successful
treatment.
Pine Rest provides the full continuum of individualized care for older
people, offered in a comfortable, supportive environment. We believe in
preserving and encouraging independence, and we always provide care that
is safe and practical for each individual.
Our specialty services include a support group for families and friends,
treatment for dementia, depression and anxiety, as well as medication
management. Home care is also available; our Psychiatric Home Health Care
Unit makes hundreds of visits per month.
Families often suffer as much as their older members, so parts of our
program are designed especially for families. We help them understand
the changes in their loved one, learn what to expect, and build coping
skills.
If you or someone you know has shown changes in behavior or abilities,
call our Contact Center. Well help you assess the situation and
decide if treatment can help. It may be the first step toward reclaiming
a healthy life and relationships for your whole family.
