Whether its stress, depression, addiction or any number of issues people struggle with on a daily basis, we are here to help.
Pine Rest offers comprehensive acute, inpatient and partial hospitalization behavioral health services for children, adolescents, adults, and older adults. Persons admitted may be experiencing a severe depression, psychosis, suicidal risks or attempts, self harming behavior, or other mental health crisis.
The inpatient units are designed for persons who experience significant behavioral health issues. The hospital provides a safe environment in which persons can begin to heal. Unit assignment is based on gender, age and behavioral concerns.
Patients in these settings receive professional assessment and individualized treatment covering the following areas:
- Psychiatric, Psychosocial, and Medical Assessment and Treatment
- Medication Education, Evaluation and Management
- Group Educational Therapies
- Individual Consultations and Therapies
- Family Consultations and Therapies
- Group Therapy
- Recreational Therapy
Spiritual Care is also available.
Our highly professional and experienced staff includes psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, psychologists, clinical social workers, nurses, case managers, occupational therapists, chaplains, and other mental health professionals and direct care staff. Their goals are crisis stabilization followed by development of an individualized after-care plan.
The Partial Hospitalization Program is short-term, intensive treatment tailored to the specific needs of patients, no matter the age range. A variety of groups along with psychiatric and psychological care is offered in this day program.
Inpatient and Partial Hospitalization services, in conjunction with Mercy Health, are located on Pine Rest’s main campus in the Mulder Therapy Center and Van Andel Center.
In addition, a Psychiatric Medical Unit at Mercy Health Saint Mary’s in Grand Rapids blends Pine Rest clinical staff into the medical integration team to provide critical behavioral health care for adults and older adults also experiencing a significant physical medical condition.
Pine Rest manages 181 licensed inpatient psychiatric beds between the campuses of Pine Rest and Mercy Health Saint Mary's through a joint operating agreement with Mercy Health. The majority of inpatient beds are on the Pine Rest main campus.
