Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services hosts an ethics training and pain management seminar for clinical professionals in the Pine Rest Postma Center on Sept. 14, 2011.
This seminar will help professionals increase awareness of how attitudes impact professional practices, and provide and reinforce ethical guidelines in work with clients and colleagues. In addition, professionals will learn to assist clients in identifying alternatives to medication for managing emotional and physical pain.
The presenter, Rhonna Nelson, is a licensed psychotherapist who is a certified advanced alcohol and drug counselor. Nelson has worked in a variety of treatment settings for mental health and detoxification. She currently has a private practice in Bingham Farms, MI.
The Sept. 14 event is from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. with registration beginning at 8:30 a.m. The cost is $80; event registration ends Sept. 7. Social worker and addiction specialist continuing education credits offered in ethics and pain management. Nursing contact hours are pending.
