“I love art, both creating and appreciating it,” says Joe Brown. “My goal is to give people a sense of ‘goodness,’ to create a place that’s somewhere you’d want to visit or that reminds you of a place or time you have already experienced. The world can be harsh and to counter the assault on our senses from crime, violence, bigotry and hate I create places that are wholesome and safe. The world from which Joe Brown’s art emerges is one of all things good.”

Joe Brown has been an artist as long as he can remember. His career started in freelance cartooning; an area he found suited his personality and abilities. He was successful in this endeavor becoming one of the top freelance cartoonists in the country. He has been published in newspapers, magazines, and books.

He eventually decided to make a go at “finer” art and found a love for pastel painting. His work has developed into what has been defined as “imaginative realism.”
