The Center for Psychiatric Residential Services (CPRS) is part of Pine Rest’s continuum of care, providing longer-termed, psychiatric residential services for teenagers aged 12-18.
- Adolescents ages 12 through 18
- Individuals who have experienced significant emotional problems requiring structured and consistent feedback from adults in order to succeed
- Individuals who have failed in less intensive residential programs because of their psychiatric symptoms
- Individuals whose symptoms necessitate removal from the intensity of environmental stress
- Individuals who lack adequate familial intervention to meet the needs of their impairments – even with the addition of intensive community support
- Individuals who, because of the nature and intensity of the disturbance, do not require continual 24-hour a day medical supervision as would be found in an inpatient psychiatric setting
- Individuals who may have shown inadequate coping skills by acting out in negative ways (i.e., aggressive behaviors, self-abusive behaviors, have frequently been on the run, etc.). We typically do not serve Conduct Disordered youth.
- Individuals who have been stabilized via close medical supervision and are now in need of longer term treatment to internalize and expand these successes before community-based care can realistically be considered
